Flabbergasted.  And nearly speechless.

I hope something was put into writing that mirrors what they verbally said.  I'm not the litigious type (and I've had several opportunities for various reasons to do so) but if this isn't reason enough to pursue for unlawful termination, what is?!

I feel sick and angry for you Mary.  And I've also been working quite a bit lately with a national environmental, health and safety company.  Will reach out to them to see what they might have.

Massively large hug to you my dear.  I hope L understands!

LMT..sorry to read the news.  [thumbsdown]  Remember..the s/o is HR if you want to ask her any legal questions about that situation.

Fresh..did you get the work?!

Bick..the s/o was looking at a job with NASA recently.  They're still in business.

Thanks all. I know I have done nothing but pregnant dog about work for months now. After 3 years I quit my last job and it took 7 months to get this one.

I have a visceral reaction to unfairness and mistreatment. I used my 8 free counseling sessions to try and make things better at work. I figured that if I got some now tools in the box, I could deal with the crazy boss. It helped, but not fast enough.  Apparently, how I react now is connected to the multiple traumas of my childhood. It was not the worst, but again, apparently worse then I thought. I liked it better when I was young and felt nothing. Ignorance was bliss. But, I guess there is no going back. It will end up being my life's work dealing with it all.

Too bad figuring it all out does not come with a living wage and job protection.

I have a line on a lawyer that deals with county employment issues. My spouse of 20 years is not happy, but she did not threaten to leave me! We will work through it. One bean and grain of rice at a time!

Condolences LMT, that really sucks.

Working for psychologically defective people can be an incredible emotional drain

I got chased out of a job because I wouldn't go out boozing every night with an alcoholic boss

whose idea of fun was drinking herself into a blackout and falling backwards off barstools nightly

move forward fast, consider throwing a contingency lawyer at her for a wrongful termination as a parting gift

I am confident a review of her emails would make the case for you

good luck!

That positively sucks!  Just wrong, IMO, worth suing just to get at Duffy.

LMT:  Send me your resume' when you can.  When my EH&S contact gets back w/me, I'll hand it over if their needs are a fit. Will see if a conversation between the two of you, at the very least, can happen.  People know people who know people so you just never know!

Guess I can't post here anymore. I start my first job in several years tomorrow. My friend since I was 10 years old owns a Motorola dealership. He specializes in two way communication equipment and has lines other than Motorola but they are his big mover and shaker. He's been in the business 25+ years and has a great reputation for sales and service in the area.

Apparently the digital age has finally hit the old analog two way radio world and Motorola is primed and ready to jump the market. My friend needs more feet on the ground in his sales force and has offered me the chance to join in. I can't start any deeper in the hole since I am not a pro salesman, I know nothing about the industry/equipment and it's a sales commission only position. :P Never been in that corner in my life. He offers group health insurance so that would be a HUGE benefit to me and my wife. Our individual health insurance premiums are awful and I'll need to sell bikes, guns, etc. just to keep paying them. So the health insurance relief is like making another salary just in it's self. [thumbsup]

Motorola offers a "new hire" program and I will go to Chicago in early March for the official Motorola brain washing. [laugh] In the mean time I will team up with his head salesman and be his "man Friday" for the next couple of months and start learning the basics and the way they do things. My friend that owns the company and I do not want to have any dealings with each other for fear of ruining a life long friendship. His head sales guy will be my "handler" and that way we can steer clear of each other and make sure others don't think I am getting any special treatment.

Wish me luck. I'll need it.[roll]
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

Fastwin - let me know when you are in Chicago - its only 3 hours away - if you have the time we can meet up.  Just as long as my current underemployment situation doesn't resolve itself into horrible, restrictive steady work.  Better yet, my "employer" could cough up the $150K he owes me.
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!
