Hey everyone!

Happy to be on this forum-  I've got a whole lot to learn and I'm hella excited (I'm so excited that I just used the word Hella...)

I just purchased my first motorcycle today:  a 2002 Monster 620 dark.   5100 miles, super clean,  D&D carbon cans on it.  I had a friend check it out for me and give it a test ride, and he loved it.

I just got my learner's permit and will be taking the MSF course in a week.  I won't be riding the bike until then.  I'm pumped to give it a ride!  I've ordered an Arai Vector helmet, revit gloves, a textile jacket with CE padding, and some Puma Brutale boots to get started.  this is going to be rad.

I'm excited to meet some fellow monster owners and am eager to learn!

Awesome!

here's a shot of it:

Congrats and welcome to the forum!  You are off to a good start it seems!  The MSF class will get you on your feet and the gear you chose is all a good idea.  I do however suggest getting a pair of textile or leather pants, jeans will not hold up should you ever drop it.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the bike!

Let the spending begin.  Although, I noticed you have a few nice upgrades already.  The most expensive probably being the pipes.  Thats great.
Like the other member said, watch where you park it.  Its a light bike and it would take nothing for three guys to toss it into the back of a pickup.  I speak from experience, on the loosing end.  I just picked up an 01 M750 and love it.  Couldn't afford the Lamborghini so I settled for a smaller fine Italian vehicle. Good luck with your purchase.  Take good care of it. [thumbsup]

BTW:  I've come across some really helpful, cool people on the is forum.  Makes owning a Duc that much more rewarding.

Congrats! The MSF class is a great start it should be mandatory. Just take it easy and don't push too hard. You will get better/faster with experience.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.
