KA-BAR Dozier folding hunter

Its one of the most important duty is to sharpen my pencils for sketching.
(Works really great for sharpening pencils.)
The blade length and profile, the grind, bevel angle, this knife has really well thought out design.
And it costs less than 20 bucks !

Speedbag

POS Coleman lock blade that I snagged for $5 with a smaller twin at a buddy's garage sale two or three years ago.

Daily use opening boxes, cutting plastic strapping, pry bar, etc. Holds an edge like crazy, practically indestructible. Figured it would last a month or two, it laughs at the abuse.

If you are going to use with only pocket knives, the smaller one will do.
If you are , like me, who use longer blade (like 10 inches) regularly,
get this 8 x 2.5 version.
(Yes, it’s “only” 8 inches long, but you can strop 10-inch blade with
one stroke.)

You don't need single beveled knife to do it.
The whole point is, your right wrist maintains the same angle.
(Single bevel makes it easier.)

Fast, economical & high return sharpening system part 2
Spyderco Ultra Fine ceramic stone (Uncut sharpening sequence)

https://youtu.be/Tryk_vIJ8To

3 knives under 7 minutes

No water / oil required

Thin and light weight
(easy to haul around)

Pretty much maintenance free
(other than occasional wash
with Comet / Ajax)

At $91.70, it isn’t “cheap”,
but considering above factors,
it is actually a great buy, as finishing /
touch-up stone.

Been awhile since I’ve looked in here.   Nice blades!  [thumbsup]

Son just gave me an Inkosi for Christmas.  Love it!  Anybody have this one or is it all about the Sebanzas?

Also got into Leatherman about a year ago and scored one the Charge+ Damascus.

Both ore the current EDC.

I had this foam mattress I had to throw away.
It was way too big to fit into my Miata, so I decided to cut it into pieces

Maybe, now is a good time to learn how to do free-hand sharpening.

Very conveniently, now you can watch this all in one video on youtube.
(I consider myself being lucky, that I had opportunity to directly interact with Murray before he got so famous / busy / too expensive.
I learned quite a bit (not just sharpening the knives) while meeting and talking to him,  ... which was ... around 2005, 2006)

Anyhow, the video is long, but worth watching.

And, some of my own video.
(They are NOT meant to be instruction or tutorial, though.)

You can start without  spending money.
You don't even have to buy a stone.
If you have a dull knife sitting around, and feel adventurous, try this.

I picked up a couple of nice "tactical" style damascus karambits.
The ride nicely in my normal day to day belt and are easily accessible.
Of course, I don't have any of my own pictures but they were made by a bladesmith buddy and closely resemble these...

I don’t have that much stuff in here.

Strop Bros leather strop

Spyderco Ultra Fine ceramic stone

Shibata Kotetsu 270mm slicer

Yu Kurosaki 240mm Gyuto

Shibata Kotetsu 240mm Gyuto

(All of them R2 steel)

Spyderco Double Stuff

Benchmade Guided Field Sharpener
(Yes, it costs more, but I like blue/sliver.
The regular one is just ... ugly.)

That’s it!
