Back to knives... I just bought the wife a small T-handle knive to carry when she's jogging. Chile is actually a very safe place, but when she runs, the asshole Chileans are harrasing her from their cars. Anyway, we both agreed that it would be better to have the blade accessible instead of concealing it. We want to find a way to strap it to her thigh instead of her hip. Other than using a belt, can you guys recommend anything to strap it on?

Try on the inside of her off hand forearm or as a neck knife (suspended from a chain inside the shirt).  My wife carries a small folder with a clip in her waistband while she is running.  Make sure if you use the neck knife method, you use ball chain and not cord as ball chain will break if someone grabs it as apposed to wearing a ready made garrotte.

I used to have a Cold Steel Recon 1 Tanto.

I thought the Recon 1 was a great knife. it took some getting used to as an everyday knife being that its over 8 inches when opened. I had a lot of issues with a tanto for certain things. IT wasnt that easy to really pick at something fine being how thick the knife really is. But it cut things really well, but that 2nd point on a tanto was always hard to keep sharp and dulled very easily. it was also VERY Strong. i droped it on the tip onto concrete several times and it did need to get sharpened again, but it never broke or chipped. But in the end, im not sure a tanto would serve much purpose as a survival knife, or an everyday knife. Its defintely cool to have though.

So, i lost the tanto in the amazon rain forest. and picked up this bad boy. I liked it too much and just had to have one again.

Meh.

I had an Onion back in the day. Could be that I just got a bad one, but mine wouldn't hold an edge for crap.

As far as the zombie tools go - they are made of 5160 which is probably the best hard use steel in that price range if it is heat treated correctly.  The profit margin on those has to be pretty good.
It looks like they are laser blanked with a few simple grinds and a painted finish which eliminates the need to polish or finish out the knife, which is where all the labor is.  Heavy 5160 blades, heat treated and drawn back into the Rockwell C mid 50's are incredibly tough.  They will sure work.  If you feel the need for an apocalyptic tool or two, let me know.  Their swords are actually a pretty good deal though, considering the amount of work I would have to do to forge one.  Swords are a pregnant dog to keep straight when you are bashing them with a hammer.
