Thought this might be a good item to have here, especially that there are lots of new people and lots has changed in the
world of bike servicing in recent times.
Can the other people from Adelaide,Brisbane and Melbourne and surrounds add in where there bikes go please.

Ok the Adelaide side of things:

Not sure of any others as there have been a few changes here in Adelaide.

Yeah good call sticky them up. Maybe add polls next to them to see where everyone gets there bikes done. Im always on the search for "better" service. As we all are. A couple on that sydney list I have been burnt by. Not that I wanna slag the bad, but I wanna praise the good if you get my drift.

Yep I think we all know who is less liked on the list.

Don't really want us to slag anyone off either, it's just about information so when newbie's arrive they have a place to find
where we all go to and who gets used more often.

with eurotwins closed the only place to get your bike serviced properly in brisbane is LAE Racing 07 3865 6122.
ALEX BUXTON has a dynojet dyno and really knows his stuff, shame he's on the northside at geebung.

if you live near the coast or the border, or don't mind the travel, these two are also very very good.

In the ACT there are really only two options
   - Gecko Motorcycles - the local Ducati Dealership, with dealership quality service and reliability  
               or
   - Axle's Motorcycles - 62820065, the only place around the ACT worth going to, usually a bit of wait to  get in though

While I appreciate the sentiment, I wonder if we may have approached this a bit differently.

I have had thoughts in the past of the type of things that people continually ask or talk about, such as:
. insurance (and/or CTP)
. servicing
. tyres
. parts suppliers (local or otherwise)
. how to host/post a pic
. training
. upcoming events/rides/track days
. etc

... and wondered if we may be better served by having an 'FAQ-style' thread stickied which might address all these type of recurring queries. Obvioulsy this may become a problem from a keeping-up-to-date/editting point of view but it was just a thought I have had.

Because I think it is best to have the least number of stickied threads possible and would actually like to see the 'show us your rde thread' stuck up the top

Good point Betty.  I find it painful searching for old threads that I know exist.  New people don't even know they exist so start new ones or worse don't get the benefit of everyone's experience.

So it probably needs a manager person to administrate it.

Very true on both (all) points, the more info in the thread though the more it is to manage and the more things get lost.
That is why I put this one up cause everyone always needs to find someone for bike servicing in their neck of the woods.

For most of the other things people can use the very interweb we are on as there is lots of info out there and it's not that difficult to find.
Tyres always comes up for sure and there is a tyres thread floating around. Again everyone has different thoughts on what tyres they like and why. 

Really though finding a good mechanic is something we all need, finding our way through the rest of the things.
Bling and who to buy it from. And the rest of the items raised people can muddle through. Or ask or even use the search and see what they find.

Having it stickied means it's easy to find.

Ok just some personal feedback about Race Bike Services here in Adelaide.

As I said they were recommended to me by fellow Oz Monster member Vossy. 

Picked up my bike today after having valves checked and belts replaced.  I supplied my own belts - CA Cycleworks belts.  The old belts were definitely past there use by date (4 years).  These guys know their stuff, and gave me some really good advice i.e. as to why go with OEM belts VS After market belts.  They presented a logical argument as to why pay extra for the OEM belts, to which I will do next time.  They also corrected me (in the most customer friendly way) on how tight my spark plugs should be - my bad I had just replaced them!

Even though it is an hour drive for me to get there it is worth that drive. I will go that extra distance for service and confidence that these guys know what they are doing.  Price wise they are good too!

Could you echo the advice here?  I'm going to replace my belts shortly when I do an 18K service.  My impression was that the CA Cycleworks belts were manufacturered to a higher spec than the OEM ones.  I don't really care which is cheaper (within reason, of course), I just want to use the best belts I can get.
