I'm trying to track down a replacement seat for a recently acquired 2001 Monster 900 [cheeky]. I've learned from other posts here that any 2000 on seat should work because of tank changes in 2000. The pans on the ones I've seen on eBay are very curved, mine seems rather straight by comparison. Having not seen a newer seat in person, I cant tell if these newer seats will fit my bike. Is there anyone who may know if a late model seat will indeed fit an older (2001) Monster 900? Thanks for any feedback.

I tired to fit my 01 750 seat onto a s2R 800 at Moto GP a few years back. It almost went on and I think it would have with a minor adjustment to the latch.

seats 93-99 or 2000+ (except 696/796/1100 of course)

Reach out to 2001cromo.  He's pretty good with that stuff.
I'm thinking you should scour ebay for a seat for your model/year or just buy an aftermarket one specific for your bike.  Unless you know someone that has done this already or has first hand knowledge, trial and error will is going to cost you in the long run.

If you've got the cash, I'd highly recommend a Sargeant seat.  It'll definitely fit, and it's a huge improvement in comfort...raises the seat by about an inch, too, which was good for me, at least.

The Sargent seat was a perfect fit, mechanically, but take a look at the pics I posted in the link above.  The seat is constructed beautifully with quality materials but it will add almost an inch to the width on each side of the seat.  When I compared the OEM to the Sargent, the Sargent seat was a tad lower and wider.  IMHO, the Sargent was better for someone with a bigger ass and a wider stance.

Hey everyone I am new to Ducati and I have just recently purchased a 2006 Ducati monster s2r 800!!

--- my question is, can you put a a two person seat on the bike?  It currently has a single Ducati racing/track seat the previous owner put on.

--- if I can put the seat on I also need to put pegs(foot rests) on and would need to know where to put those.  The bike has a full arrow racing exhaust so I'm not sure if that would affect there placement?

Thanks

The answer to the first question is yes, provided there hasn't been any major modification to fit the 'racing' seat.

As far as the passenger pegs go, unless the previous owner ground the passenger peg mounts off they should be just under the plastic side panels. Here is a picture for reference....

And the passenger pegs will work with the Arrow exhaust.
