On thursday henks closes at 6PM

Kuby's and Henk's both close around 6 on school nights, 9 on the weekends. Both are rather staid, family atmosphere old-line German bakery/delis. Dallas doesn't have a real Bierstube. 

Gee, I just had a vivid childhood recollection of a group of drunk German civilian employees slow racing each other on their BMWs and Zundapps to entertain the Amerikaners at a missile wing staff picnic at Hahn AFB in the late 50's. Some idiot put an unopened can of pork & beans on the grill to warm it - it exploded and the contents scalded a kid. Just first degree burns, so they put margarine on them. I had a brat on a bun with hot brown mustard. Good times!

You couldn't get away with any of that today.

  Sorry everyone - I'm an idiot - had breakfast there yesterday and completely ignored their clearly posted hours. 

Hope everyone found another place to drink & have fun.  I didn't even finish work until 8:30.

bavarian grill in plano is pretty decent, too.  i like henk's a lot better, though.
