This reminds me.... the night I was in labor (and had just started to push) there was hockey on. Minnesotamonster and the L&D nurse were watching the game between contractions, and my doctor kept poking her head in to check the score.

Diehard Redwings fan I see!!

Baby is right on track as far as size goes and really put on a show for us.  12 weeks down, 28 weeks to go!

It was great meeting "The Dude" at long last.   She brought us some epic beer.

There is no such thing as too much preparation
Comes a time
When the blind man takes your hand
Says don't you see
Gotta' make it somehow
On the dreams you still believe

Yup...we were thinking we were ahead of the game and the water broke 2 months early. Start registering now and have your shower next month!

For the love of god go knock on some wood... this whole thing started out by someone saying something they shouldn't have.  I quote, "And that's how babies are made."

I thought 3000 diapers/year was an exaggeration but when this kid goes through 10 of them within 5 hours..I can see that may just be a lowball estimate!!  WTH?!  :o

BTW..some must-have items that other new fathers may find useful:

-Pack-n-play  (we have the Chicco brand..which is supposed to be one of the easiest to breakdown. It has a water-proof changing station.   Plus, a remote and is voice activated for screaming kid which turns on light, music and vibration)
-portable swing   We bought one at BuyBuyBaby and it works great!
-nanny cam.  This model has remote viewer with night vision, zoom and an audiometer built in.  You can mute it and still see how loud the kid is crying.
-at least a dozen bottles
-"Biomedics" sound spa/lullaby..plays music/sounds and displays pics on the ceiling/wall at night. My boy is instantly distracted from crying when he sees it.
-"DiaperGenie"
-lots of wipes
-gallons of hand sanitizer
-more bottles!!!
-Baby Bijorne..haven't used ours yet but it will be a lot easier to carry kid around than that carrier
-lots of alcohol..thanks MrI!!

Any other suggestions?

BTW..if you're thinking about passing on a baby shower..don't!  Friends threw us a party and we received most of these items and a bunch more from our registry!

Works great!  Then I just start timing how long its in the red zone to know if he means business or he's just momentarily restless. ;)

Yes, they go through a lot...one of the reasons we like cloth diapers.  About to run out?  Just do a load of laundry.

Let me know if you are ever interested in learning more about carriers that will last far longer than a Baby Bjorn and be far more comfortable, both for baby and for mom/dad.  :)

Since this is the father thread, here's a picture of MrI with M at 11 months.
