Best rides from downtown Dallas?

I have yet to make it to a group ride, would love to, and hopefully the timing will work eventually.  I am looking for some tips on where to go from downtown Dallas that I can get some cool rides in.  I am so sick of commuting back and forth with traffic and stop lights.  I need to get out of the city for a random afternoon or morning ride but just not sure which way to go for the most fun.

You could take DNTollway North to 380 then scout around.
No lights till 380 at least.

455 from pilot point to Anna is a good road.  TKe the 121 fm also from 377 and 75 but watch for cops.  This can be done in a loop and runs about 70 miles

Or...you could look at a map and do some exploring.  Have headed East on road over Lake Tawakoni.  Do not remember the name of the road though.

or do what i used to do (worked well when i moved to a new city):

Get on motorcycle, point it in one direction, and get good and lost. You'll know more about the roads you took than a glance at a map will show you

There's some great rides from downtown.  There's the dubliner ride, the old monk ride, the new amsterdam ride, and many others...

916 south, 219 is a freaking race track, 157 south of mansfield is ok ( i get to ride it anytime on my way home) hwy 4 between grandbury and pilot point is real good! 875 sout of venus SUCKS! Its like riding in braille (have to ride it going home).

R car alarms that real faint noise i barely hear through all the racket my exhaust makes!
