I do like how you blended where to cut it, looks sweet, especially if it was Pc'd black, i called it first, doing it.

im not sure any lower is possible with the stock headlight, but i do think this is plenty low enough for me. consider this on the list

ay idea how much that metal bracket is if i ever decide to undo it? (i.e. give the bike to my wife to purchase an ____)

I have one, bought it just in case I screwed this project up. $85 plus shipping if you want?

So you cut off the mounts that stick out the top of the headlight?

The screw coming up from the headlight mount and the screw coming down from the pod mount do not interfere?

Any pics of the mount?

The screws don't interfere. Just find ones that are short is all. And be prepared for some redneck looking bracket pictures...later today. Basically I just went to home depot and bought something I could bend and manipulate enough to make it work, nothing that should ever be in plain view on any bike, thankfully the POD covers most of this up. It works for now but I want to find something more machined and appropriate.

Very nice. The best 696 I've seen. Looks like the black rearsets would have worked just as well if not better.

That back wheel/ swingarm is perfect. Great photography too.

any updates?

Added some crg levers. Modified the position of the POD. That's about it, I'm done for awhile. Gotta start saving for the next cart of parts...power commander, ohlines or marzocchi forks, misc carbon...

[clap] [clap] Mate, thats absobloodylutely beautiful  [thumbsup]

I was skeptical of your method of completely amputating the stock speedo mounts from the headlight bezel.... but I gotta say I really like how its turned out.... Fabulous job.

I was too. That's why I bought an extra headlight bezel just in case I did mutilate the original. This was actually a pretty simple thing to cut and smooth out.  Fortunately I had some decent tools for the job. The new mounts for the POD are pretty crappy looking brackets that I bent in every which way to get the POD at the right angle. But they do the job well and are hidden thank god.
