Might do my own Turismo later on and avoid paying $300 odd dollars to ride public roads.

Are you talking about a ride to that scary place they call "the mainland"?  :o

I'm keen.

Unfortunately I'll miss this Turismo as well.

Did someone say Wood Chopping Competition?  :P It's your turn with the axe this year Heather.

I'm looking forward to my third Turismo. South Australia and then Tasmania were both fantastic.

The fancy dress costume is being thought over , I have a few ideas.

Should be good.  :)

Hi Dave,
Yes, the big island to the north. Not sure when it will be though. I'm having some personal maintenance which will put me off the bike for several months and may miss most of this summers riding. I may not be looking to go until next spring.

That leaves plenty of time for planning.

Alrighty ... had to rescue this thread from page 2.

So on Thursday we headed down to Frasers for our 'Safety Inspection' ... and things didn't all go according to plan. They did make one or two minor adjustments but the bikes passed OK.

Now for my little rant:
- we have to go to a Ducati dealer for the inspection
- they wouldn't do it on the weekend
- I needed to take a day off work
- it took us over two hours to get there
- it took almost three hours to get it done
- we didn't realise they had not completed the paperwork until we got home
- they tried to charge us $107 each for the inspection (a glorified pink slip)

Luckily they have a good bloke working on the floor ... so Damo helped us get away with paying the advertised $55 each. Thanks Damo.

Now we just need to see if the paperwork can be sorted or do we need to go through it all again.

So if anybody else is going to get their inspection done ... make sure evertything is clear beforehand. Who knows what might happen in Canberra.

Crap!!!

At the last Turismo in Tassie, I had mine done at the local dealer the day before the start and NO CHARGE.

I think its all becoming a bit too expensive for what you get.

The degree of difficulty seems to be increasing over time... :(
There is no charge for awesomeness... or attractiveness.

Have to agree with you G.  Not to mention the restrictive accommodation options.  It seems to be turning into the exclusive club that I feared it would be the first time I went.

Not sure if I'll be attending any more unless something changes.

Seems like a lot of people feel the same way considering it's not sold out like previous years.

Anyways, I thought I'd bring out the old chestnut from the past:

I have heard the next Turismo will be by invitation only and you need to provide proof of ownership of your fully optioned Multi-stroodle before you can attend. You must also have had a full service completed by your friendly Ducati dealership within 4 weeks of the start date.
