Stock exhaust parts vs Leo Vince:

Stock can weighs 20 pounds.  Leo Vince, 10 lbs in all of its titanium goodness

And here's the mid pipe section comparison.  Stock has a 3rd catalytic converter.
Two piece Leo Vince section, 0   [evil]

Overall length of the two has the LV looking a bit longer

Tomorrow morning I'll polish out some of the mottling on the new pipes and then try to put it all on.

What are the chances the install goes as smoothly as the removal...

Need more beer  [laugh]

Way to go Lisa! Hope the ECU issue goes well too. I'm clueless about Power Commander/Ducati stuff. All my Duc ECU stuff is DP issue. All my Jap sbk ECU stuff is Power Commander. Someone on the big board mentioned that Nemesis (sp??) is the way to go. I know nothing about that brand. No help here, sorry. [bang]
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

see if you can get your OEM ECU reflashed to the DP spec.

Nemesis and Microtek are the "way" to go for a thoroughly mapped-for-your-bike option. But they come, essentially, blank. And require a lot of programming / tuning by a shop that is knowledgeable with that product.

So with the *HIGH* cost of the Nemesis or Microtek units, coupled with the *HIGH* tuning costs, it starts to look not so awesome with only mild motor changes, like a full-system exhaust.

It's alive!  Everything went on pretty much to plan.  Big thanks to LYD for helping out  [thumbsup]

All of the pieces polished.  I found the best results with Mother's Aluminum and Mag Polish applied
with green scotchbrite.  Then finished it off with a fine grain polishing foam pad.  Light coat of BelRay
grease to keep the shine.

Looks great.  Sounds even better.  Great ground pounding base.

There are two fitment issues, neither of which are show stoppers or ones that will keep me from riding it once all the bodywork is back in place.  Very tight fit pretty much everywhere but overall a nice, well-made set of pipes that I can - so far - recommend.  I'll be curious to see how it all works after a few hundred miles.  Will run it with no ECU; Leo Vince says it is designed to do that, so that's what I'm going with for now...  We'll see  ;)

See y'all out there  [moto]

Stock was 20 lbs measured with a bathroom scale; Leo Vince cannister was 10 lbs  [thumbsup]  I expect improvements in the handling department.  Haven't had a chance to test that yet tho.

There were metal fiber ring gaskets in all of the junctions of the stock set of pipes and in the Leo Vince set.  They appear to be one-use-only and none were re-usable.  So before I put any miles on the motor, I would like to fit new exhaust system gaskets.

Are these exhaust gaskets Ducati parts or can I go to a muffler shop and try to find some?

I had a similar gaskets in the hyper's exhaust (rear cylinder header to cat), and I reused it without issue. I would try using them first.
