+1 on looking into armor-only options.

if your commute involves a snarl of traffic, even perf leather can get very, very warm vs. tex.

if you're moving along the whole way, you'll be surprised how cool fully perfed can be  [thumbsup]

thanks for the input, i ended getting a Hein Ger mesh jacket with armor and ditched my perf leather without the armor.  I still liked the airflow from perf leather but armor feels more comfortable for me.  maybe next season, i'll invest in a pefr leather with armor...

I bought the Joe Rocket Reactor 2.0 from New Enough, its a combination perf leather and mesh with armor. I love it. Any jacket will be hot in the south during the summer so ya just have to suck it up.

Nothing fancy but it has armor and it was like $100.  I did crash in it and it held up pretty well... just a few scuffs.

Anyway I don't need anything too fancy for extreme hot weather, I live in Wisconsin and we don't get too much. :P  Case in point it's only like 60 right now!

I like the gray and black color scheme, how does it fit? i usually wear a XL but most XL so far are a bit short for my torso...

they're supposed to be short for your torso, so that they don't bunch up when you sit on your bike.

I bought a large and it fits great. I am about 5'10" 225lbs. Every jacket I have had has ridden up in the back, I keep looking for riding pants that are comfortable and don't look to bad that I can zip to but no luck so far, oh well.

I liked the idea of a grey/black but in the picture of the way too kewl dude on the page it looked more silver to me and I didn't want that so I initially went with the red/black but it was back ordered so I ended up with black/black. Yeah I know in summer there could have been better choices but what can I say I am a slave to fashion.  ;D

Stangman

Teknic Supervent Pro Jacket.

A little "stormtrooper-ish" but if offers the best protection i've seen in a mesh vented jacket.  It's my daily hot weather jacket.

The shoulder protection and elbow protection is really tuff stuff, knox armor throughout and a back protector of course.  Has a cool vent system molded into the tops of the shoulder armor too.  At speed, it cools REALLY well.
