Like this is the racing, no?

You know, WSBK was my favorite series until this race. The penalty call on Max was total bullshit. My two cents but it was the worst race official call I have ever seen in WSBK. WSBK is now in the realm of MotoGP. And that's not good. Look up weak bullshit in the dictionary and there will be a picture of Max in this race! Just sayin'....
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

as "shitty" as it seems, it's kinda hard to feel sorry for a guy that broke a track-specific rule that was gone over in a (mandatory?) riders meeting that he didn't bother to attend.

OT

Suppose Biaggi had tried to make the corner and crashed.....

In a way, that rule forces the rider to make that kind of decision - enter the corner/chicane at a controllable speed, or else...

I think the penalty associated with this rule is about more than just gaining a few tenth's of a second...it's like a kind of virtual gravel.

biaggi wasn't (just) penalized for straight-lining the chicane, he was penalized for not following the re-entry procedure covered in the riders' meeting.

so he gained, if anything, a negligible advantage and then followed that up with entering the track incorrectly.

if he'd showed up to the rider's meeting, he'd have had a better chance to know about the re-entry procedure and then he might've just gotten away with a small time penalty (we'll never know).

so monza is fast as shit
so they put in these run off lanes as a safety measure
so they have this rider's meeting and cover exactly how to deal with them
max doesn't go
max blows it, 5 second lead or not

what would EVERY other rider and team manager on the grid say if they hadn't given him the ride-through?

it totally sucks, yes, since he slowed down, had a monster lead anyway, and it just really didn't matter in the scope of the race.

but it would have been bigger bullshit to go through all those gyrations just to say, ah, make the beast with two backs it, we weren't all that serious about that rule.

not to mention: italian-owned series, italian officials, italian rider, italian bike, italian team.  can you just imagine what would have happened if they blew that one off?

pretty much nailed it all the way thru..  especially:

Quotenot to mention: italian-owned series, italian officials, italian rider, italian bike, italian team.  can you just imagine what would have happened if they blew that one off?

if they didn't penalize him, it would have been bs

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Yeah, I know you guys are right. But I was just so pissed when I saw the race last night. I still think he got make the beast with two backsed but you're right, they can't give him a pass on it. It would really piss everyone else off and I can see why. That's why they call them rules. ;D I'm already over it. Move along, nothing to see here. ;)
