My 2 cents; black out the pipes and go with black and gold plate/springs/cover. I think that would play off of those sexy forks quite nicely.

Keep the pipes red but go with a gold pressure plate and red caps

Lets see if I can't find a picture

There yah go

I'm rockin' a totally different color combo than you are but I do believe that this would work well

this color combination might work well - or go with black spring caps instead of silver:

Here's a question.  What do you guys do to keep water out of the clutch when you wash your bike?  Or is there even a problem with getting the clutch wet?

I'm leaning very much toward this course of action.

It's not a problem.  Just start the bike after you've finished and the water slings right off.  Do not spray directly at it if you're using a hose.  Don't use a drive-thru car wash.  Common sense stuff.. ;-)

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Yeah, I was thinking about it, but I got over it.  They stay red.  Gotta have it.

Instead of coating the headers black, I'm thinking about vinyl wrapping the forks black.

If you wrap the forks you are going to have to do something about that rear spring.  The forks are all that are keeping that spring.  Other than that and the frame sticker I wouldn't change a thing.
