As already mentioned about the diet part: do your best to limit, or cut out altogether, starches and processed carbs.  Just removing breads and potatoes from your diet can go a REALLY long way.

The dining facilities are open such that I get two meals in per day (usually asleep for breakfast), so the small meals thing is a little more difficult, unless I'm eating a lot of prepackaged food (as a civilian, I'm not allowed to take food out of the dining facilities).

When did they stop you guys from taking things out?  There never was an issue with that the last two times I was down there.  Which chow halls are you hitting?  Maybe you're at the wrong ones.

Not true.  There are still a few speak-easies down there.   

I dont know when they stopped, but there are signs up everywhere. I walked out of there today with two containers of cereal and two boxes of milk and no one said anything, so I dont know how serious they are.

Nope, I'm in a B-Hut on Camp Yune.... haven't had to go to 82 very often at all.

The food at Vance is way better.

Diff types of breads and potatoes are less saturated in starches?  Stay away from white flower foods also..
