Our ride will head due west out the Katy Freeway, then turn off on some great motorcycling roads. The country scenery includes grassy pastures, gently rolling hills and some cool sweepers. Plus a couple of nice 'n curvy stretches--like the path from Frelsburg to Fayetteville. We will end up in Fayetteville for lunch on the square at Orsak's Cafe. Then even more rolling hills and sweepers on the ride home. Come join us!

Please note the new Summer start time!

Hey Allan, they changed the ride up to go to Fayetteville and Orsak's instead due to some antique show that's going on in the Round Top area, just fyi

Not bad!  Although I have been thinking I need a nice long ride for a change to scrub the sides of my tires a bit.  Too bad it's been busy as hell around here, the most I can get in is a nice commute to work from time to time.  748's running great btw!
The monster I believe needs a new bearing (haven't gotten to it in the last 5 months.  You have any recommendations for bearing shops?  or do you guys just buy direct...

Applied Industrial Technologies on West Little York.  www.applied.com  No personal experience with them.  Last time I was involved with design work on "stuff that moves" was 2007.  Applied appears to distribute everything under the sun related to bearings though.

SETxDOC has been fairly consistent with their monthly rides of late.  ThirdCoast is more sporadic on 'official' group rides, but I believe Juan and his crew ride on Sunday mornings fairly regularly from Fulshear to Bellville and surrounds even if the word isn't spread over the ThirdCoast emails.  I've starting running a short stint through the forests either Sat or Sun early then grabbing brunch at Katz's Express (start 7 or 8a and done by noon at the latest); thinking of opening up an invite to the clubs.

Turnout of 18, which is about double the average.  Some pictures here:  http://www.desmotexas.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=63&pid=618#top_display_media

Rode sag since I had the GPS route.  Ended up leading three others back to the main group after a couple of minor technicals prompted pit stops; one forgot to check his tire pressure before leaving home and had to stop 5min in to air up and the second got distracted by a pair of double D's cycling on the side of the road, had to get on the brakes to avoid punting the person in front of him and in the process knocked his mirror loose.  After those were sorted we had a good strech of curves at a decent clip back to the main group.  Spent the rest of the ride up to my peel off point at Cat Springs babysitting a lone newer rider, while the main group were playing.  At Cat Springs another Woodlands resident and I split off and blasted back through Belleville and Hempstead to 1488 and back to the Woodedlands.  A good 240 miles riding overall.
