I currently have a agv dark ducati helmet. And it gets quite hot , its a great helmet but dont think a very good air circulation.  I'm looking to purchase another helmet, some advice from the people who have had real world experience would be awesome.

Also, I have been getting mixed reviews on flip up helments, anyone out there wearing them can shed some of their experiences.

Following are things I am looking for in next helmet.

1. Safety
2. Air ventaltion system ( agv dark gets hot!!!! )
3. Light weight

I have an Arai Vector that I really like. It has a 3-position mouth vent, closing vents on each side at the top of the visor, and a vent on the top front and top rear. I can't remember if the top vents are 2-position or 3. I haven't felt overheated in it yet and it's very comfortable overall.  I imagine a black helmet would tend to absorb more heat than white or silver, as well.

So one of the biggest/most important things with helmets is to get on that fits well. Web Bike World has a lot of info on helmet shapes.

- So if your AGV fits well, then you'll want to cross reference with the info above.

Then, take a look at the full length review:

One that they review, like and say flows a ton of air is the Caberg Ego... problem is that it's not DOT approved yet. A DOT version is expected sometime soon... but it's still TBD
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

The Bell Star has amazing airflow - probably the coolest street helmet I've worn.  I can literally feel wind rushing though my hair.  Safety should be as good as any and better than many - composit/laminate shell like all the high end stuff uses (imho its best to avoid polycarb shells).  Weight seems good to me, I think its lighter than my previous arais and shoeis - probably on par with the new stuff from those companies I'd guess - haven't weight directly.
