So I see excellence in photo-imagery is a family gift

I must send that impossibly cute little munchkin a camera for his first birthday

so that he may begin honing his genetic skills!!

Had to take Maro to the ER a couple times this past week.

1st night..they gave him Pedialite because he was dehydrated and had been spitting up his food for 3 days.
2nd night..Ultrasound because he wouldn't stop spitting up
3rd day..Upper GI

Good news..he doesn't have signs of pyloric stenosis and he's not dehydrated anymore.  He obviously does have reflux issues.  Not sure if he is allergic to breast milk though?

Right now, we're using formula and rice milk powder and he seems to be holding it down better.  Any other parents experience this with your lil ones and what did you do to help them?

He wouldn't be allergic to breast milk, but he could be allergic to a food eaten by mom that comes through in the milk.  We had to deal with some allergy issues.  Best thing to do is for her to temporarily cut out all of the top allergens, including hidden ingredients, and keep a food diary / log of issues.  Those include dairy, soy, wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish.

Also some babies spit up a lot when on their back, see if keeping him more upright helps.  For example, try letting him nap in one of your baby carriers instead of in the crib.

hope you work it out soon!

Thanks for the link!!

We've been discussing changing the wife's diet.  Maro is at his worse tonight. He's going back to the Pediatrician in the AM.  We've attempted to keep him more upright for sleep.  He doesn't like being in his swing/carseat/bouncer so that's an issue.

Yes, hoping it gets resoloved soon!!  Poor lil' guy looks like he's starving.   :-\

Sorry you're having issues with feeding and Somegirl gave you some excellent insight.  Sophia has major feeding issues and had allergies to un/undercooked egg whites (how's that for obscure), strawberries, corn, milk, cod and crabs.  I kept a food diary and tracked when she was fussiest or spitting up.  We ended up having to go with soy formula after several months of journaling and tracking everything; thankfully she took to it readily.

Those initial allergies continues until she was about 3. Now there are certain types of fruit (banana, mango, apples and a couple others that she keeps track of better than I)that she gets blisters on the insides of her mouth; usually a benedryl will take care of it quickly.  If the food is in some format other than fresh (cooked or with something else) she's fine.
Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing; however, they can still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

My wife knows all and is always right. You should listen to her, IZ.

Hugs to the little guy.

We found with our first child after all kinds of problems, the ex cut out dairy and all was well.
As was mentioned keep a journal. everything you eat goes in it and track your infants progress.
you'll figure it out. it all seems scary but then it's ok all of a sudden.
wishing you the best of luck. I know its hard.

Very small amounts of reflux yesterday. Wife dumped all the milk she had and is starting over as she is on a new diet. Pediatrician increased the rice milk to formula ratio. Maro got rid of what was backing him up too yesterday so that was a huge relief as well. He slept nearly 4 hours a couple times. Which he hasn't done yet. He's heading in the right direction. Now. Thanks all!
