The last few days I've been riding my M695 about 50 miles, in about 80F temps, all highway.  Today the bike hit 269F, which is the highest I can recall it reaching.  Is this in line with what other 695 owners are seeing?  The 695 is my primarily transport and I need to keep it operating.  Thanks for any information and insight.

Before I put my dp ecu on there i was hitting temps like that and higher ones.  I don't know if they fixed it in the 2008 model, but with the high temps comes yellow headers.  On my 2007 model my headers turned yellow but @ the 15k service my dealer called it in to ducati and they agreed to replace the headers with new ones.  As it turns out, the headers have a coating on them that was not made to withstand that high of temps so they turn yellow.

Best upgrade i did for the 695 was the termis and ecu.  Made the bike run much smoother and got the running temps way down.  Although even with the ecu in there ive seen my bike hit 270F on 90 degree days when im chugging along in bumper to bumper traffic.

before the deluge of do a searches...
the manual states that 338 is wayyyy bad.

i've seen temps ranging from 215 to 280 on 80+ degree days. 269 ain't nuthin to worry aboot.
seeing 300+ for extended periods is not so good for the life of your oil.

oh...and DO A SEARCH! :P

I've done some searching on TOB and didn't find much conclusive information.  Granted, I was impatient.  :P

My 695 has the Termis and ECU, so I'm guessing this is nothing to worry about yet.  Worst case, I have an 848 if the Monster goes down.  [evil]

Keep an eye on it, if it still looks concerning take it into Nichols to have it checked out.

I had a friend in town from Arkansas this past weekend. He got his first ride on a Ducati!

He pulled up next to me on the interstate and started pointing erratically at the gauges... then he held up fingers to spell out... TWO THREE ZERO. I nodded and signaled back: THREE ZERO ZERO. :)

It climbed to 288 for a little bit there.  ;D
