I am new to the ducati market and am looking to buy a monster soon.  I am looking at 06 and up monsters in all power ranges. I just sold my 03 gsxr 750, and I am on the fence in regards to moving up in power.  I am very comfortable as a ridder.  I have been on ridding for almost 5 years and steadily progressed from a 97 kawi 250 ninja to an 08 cbr 600rr and finally to my 03 gsxr 750.  I am done hunching over on a bike.  I started dirt biking about 2 years ago and was amazed how much more comfortable it was to be sitting up.

So my question to the DMF world is what should I be looking for as far as any issues these bikes may have that the seller I will be talking to either may not know about or is just hoping I dont know about?  I am also looking at a couple Triumph Speed Triples.  Anyone know anything about these?  I love the Ducati look and form what I have heard they are solid as a rock.  I would more than likely try and get the exbox exhaust for it so I am not sure what bikes that will fit on and what bikes it wont.  I am planing also on making the tail as short as possible.  I love the real small look with the rear tire being the focal point of the back of the bike.

All info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Just FYI you needn't worry about moving up in power from the 750, all monsters and speed triples will have less than the 750 had, though they'll generally make their power at lower rpm and over a wider spread.
