After my tail chop my Remus Carbon Fiber High Mount slip-ons are sticking out and I got a bad case of wheel barrell butt! Can I cut 4-6 inches off the tail of the cans and rivet the end piece back on or would that damage the cans and impact functionality? I have no idea whats in there or if this is even do-able. Anyone do this to their exhaust? If so how ???

Shouldn't be a problem. Just be patient and do a good job!
Make sure you wear some eye protection and a good breather mask. You do NOT want to get carbon fiber dust/particles into your lungs or eyes.

To make you more confident, plenty of folks have shortened Termi cans, which for some reason are WAY more expensive than a Remus can.
Have fun!

i have the same problem with my remus made dp cf high mounts. yours are probably the same cans just without the ducati performance sticker/paint. it appears to be simple to cut these cans tho i havent done it yet. there are tutorials and threads with pictures on this forum depicting how others have done it in the past.

before i cut mine im going to make new mounts for the cans so they are higher and tighter under the seat grab handles and then splice in a peice of stainless into the s bend to keep the cans level with the frame/seat. should be done over the next coupla weeks. ill let u know how i go and post pics in here if you havent done yours before then.

Ok disregard the last question. Came across this while doing a search. This pretty much lays it all out. What a great job documenting the process. I'm doing mine asap.

FYI the best way is to use a bandsaw.  A reciprocating saw will make a more jagged edge (hand or electric).

A table band saw is the best because you are almost guaranteed a square cut too.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.
