Tricky one for you all.

Ive got a rubbery squeak coming from the front of the bike. Its not the breaks. Its not the shocks, or the forks, and isnt effected when i go over bumps. And only occurs when the clutch is engaged. Be damned if I know what it is. Gonna take off the belt covers on the weekend and have a looksee, but to be honest, not sure what im looking for. Saying that, the belts were replaced about 2K ago...

Any ideas o' wise ones?

check your belt tensioners , check and make sure you can turn them easy and they have no movement like sideways wobble , if i was you the first thing too check is the clutch rod bearing on the clucth pressure plate, it makes a squeaking noise and if not fixed will stuff the rod and slave cylinder its a little bearing and if not lubed or replaced often  they dry out quick  cheers bazz

When inspecting your bike you should check the friction coefficient between your footwear and the walking surface ... under certain circumstances a squeak may be audible.

Cheers Bazz. Certainly a starting point for my investigations.

I find that my open clutch squeaks a bit on take up sometimes.  I just thought it was normal.

Running. But only when in gear (and obviously moving). I can hear it right up to about 30kms/hr, but after that the engine/pipes gets louder, thrown in with wind etc, so not sure if its still there in 3rd gear and up or I just cant hear it.

A regular squeak that gets faster as you speed up?? ???

Or a constant squeak that chirps constantly and is noisier over bumps??  ???

Regular Chirp. Doesn't get louder. Doesn't get faster either. Bumps have no impact on it. But as soon as I pull the clutch in it disappears completely.

Good mystery aint it! Thing is, its gonna bug me (and ill bug you guys) for another week or so as wont have time to open her up until next weekend, and even then i probably wont know what im doing. Ha! worst comes to worst and I cant figure it out its off meadowbank we go.

I'd be going Bazz's route and pull the clutch cover off and the pressure plate and replace that little bearing (Cheap $6-$7 at bearing servives) and also pin

the other side the clutch slave cyl, and make sure it hasnt been spinnning in the piston and have a look at the little orings that can get chewed up damaged!

I'll be damned. Not a single squeak on the way in to work this morning. (20km ride with traffic & 100kmhr+ - so a good range)

Ahh bikes!

Just as I thought, you probably evicted the family of mice living in your air filter box.
Wulla! no squeaking noise.
