So first post since moving from the "other forum" anyways I got a '02 750 that is beautiful that I have already cut the tail and I was trying to match the headlight to the led license plate light (anybody know the color ex. 7000K or something) and as I was taking off my wind screen I noticed that the mounting points on my gauge pod had cracks through it. Now this would explain the excessive vibrations i noticed when i took it out. Looking around I cannot find a new housing or a replacements without having to sell my kidney.

Has anybody made repairs to the area in question?

Also is a DIY on how to dye the plastic parts b/c I have the ugly light gray covers that i have?

Can't help you with the cracks, but a member here described how to color the belt covers black. He used textile coloring dye in a bucket over night. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find it.

Here's the thread on dyeing plastic...http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=43500.msg781990#msg781990

I use SEM problem plastic repair material with good success on most plastics..http://semproducts.com/Catalog.asp?prod=245

It takes paint...don't know about dyes.

I fixed them with some epoxy I had laying around. I made sure that it got into the gaps and then clamped it to ensure it held. Let it dry 24 hours and boom it works...

Good old fashioned redneck engineering :)

Did the same thing to mine, though my gauge mounts weren't cracked but rather ripped right the make the beast with two backs off (side effect of crashing).  Dumped a copious amount of two part epoxy in there, clamped her up, and it's held fine for the last 3 or so thousand miles.
