they finally added turn-by-turn. That was one of the the features I was most surprised that they have not added.

I tried the new maps turn by turn feature last night and it worked quite well.  I agree that the maps themselves look great.

The big chatter on the interwebs is that, unlike Google Maps, Apple Maps don't have the public transit schedule/route integration built in (yet).

It's also got some serious funky stuff going on with misplacing locations, old databases (showing businesses that disappeared a decade or more ago, etc.), and some "don't try the brown acid" distortions of some of the satellite imagery, like this one:



I was on the river at the base of Hoover just a couple of weeks ago, and I don't recall the new bridge dipping down to river level several hundred feet below!

I suspect that the app works well 98% of the time, but it hurts Apple's reputation for meticulous design to rush out something this half-baked & open to ridicule. Siri has been ridiculed for at least a year. I'm sure that derby could find other features they didn't quite get right the first time.

Had battery problems drainage problems on the second day. First day didn't pay it mind because it was pulling songs from iTunes

Yesterday down to 30% at end of day.

Today with Bluetooth off at 2:30 PM down to 95%. Turned on at 7 AM and no phone calls so far because it is Sunday 

Hard to believe searching for Bluetooth eats that much power.

Just curious how the traffic report is on it. As a dedicated android user the Google maps traffic is spot on every time. It gets me there to the minute of what is says. I can't drive without it.

Yep and make sure to turn off the wifi when not at a hotspot.

OK, I'm finally kind of excited about the 5: from Verizon, at least, it ships unlocked!
