Wolfboy

I've posted once or twice, was going to wait to introduce myself until I could post some pics, but.

I'm saving for a 2011-12 M1000evo, and I hope to find one for around 9,000 in spring of 2013. Until then, I'll keep riding my 2008 KLR, which is a cumbersome, ponderous, brutally simple and forgiving beast. Lord how i loves that bike.

I've been riding for 5 years now and have decided that the 1000 evo will be my next bike, but since I'm a school teacher and my wife's pregnant with our first child, I have to save up for it or start thinking about child support. If anyone's interested, I looked at the Moto Guzzi Breva and Griso, Triumph's Thunderbird Sport (1998-2004) and even the Harley XR1200 for a while, but decided to go with the Monster. It's just a better bike, with the exception of the Griso, which is just a different bike.

I'm looking forward to asking stupid questions and stealing everyone's good ideas.  -And hopefully eventually contributing to the pool of knowledge...

That's what we're here for!

Well, that and wasting lots and lots of time.  :)

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Wolfboy

Cool! What part of our fair state Buckethead?

Herm- yes, Fort Collins is not a hard place to live with it's perennial celebration of all things two-wheeled and all things beer.  [Dolph]   [drink]

Right here in Fort Fun.  :D

Also, if you get your Evo, you're going to Ducati in the Rockies.

Notice that there was no question mark there.  ;)

Yes--how could I forget the babes? College girls in skirts on bicycles...

Buckethead- awesome! What does your motorbike look like so I can keep an eye out? My KLR is silver and black.

I would love to go to Ducati in the Rockies!--And the evo is a question of when, not if, but "when" is November of next year at the soonest, Christmas of 2013 at the latest... it depends on how quickly I can save, and when I can get a good deal on a used one of the new models-- I think 9k is a reasonable target price-- I'm seeing some 2009's going for that much now, but it's all up in the air.

This is what it looks like when it's not in pieces.

Currently torn apart as I replace the rectifier and finish up some wiring projects.

I'll keep my eyes open for your KLR. My roommie has one in white and loves it.

I was going to ask, now that there is snow on the roads, is it no longer a pile of smoldering plastic magma?

Get it back together.  No more excuses.
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Oh, and Welcome! New Guy.  [beer]

(just a warning, Ft. Collins is a long way from ABQ, so most of the time you are safe, but occasionally the DucMouse does venture north...)   [evil]

No longer smoldering, not even any melted plastic on it now.

Tank is off while I beef up the primary battery and starter circuits and wire up my heated grips. Gonna do belts and valves while it's down, too.

Oh, and the underseat tray where the rectifier mounts is now diamond-tread aluminum.  [evil]

Thank you, sir.

Yup. 2006 Sport 1000. I had an '03 M620 for a while and I kept trying to figure out how to make it into more of a cafe racer, and then they came out with these and I was done for.  ;D
