The current ownership has quietly been looking for a buyer for the last year or so.  The latest inside rumors I've heard involve talks with Mercedes Benz, fwiw.

I asked Joe, the owner of SuperMoto Italia here on Long Island, about the potential sale and he said that Mercedes is interested in buying some of the company. Not a complete takeover, more like a cash infusion.
Nobody said that I did. Everyone says that I would.

I heard Audi will make a decision by April 18 and they are likely to be the new owner.
