Rizoma Clip-Ons and M1100

I've been looking at getting a set of clip-ons for my M1100 and have been eyeing off the Rizoma's. Unfortunately they're still only made for the older Monsters and will need an adaptor to get the triple to mount on the forks. Brad at Bikecraft says this is no big deal and he has done them before but he didn't have a set of the clip-ons in stock at that time and so I couldn't have a look until he ordered them for me.

I've searched through the website and can find lots of "Yes I have them" answers but few pictures of worth and even less on later model Monsters and the need for adaptors.

Rather than place an order and then find I don't like them up close ( see here http://www.rizoma.com/en/products-bikes-lines/l:130/upper-triple-tree-with-clip-o.html)  I am asking if anyone has them on a late model Monster and pics if you have them? Also, for anyone who has them installed, how do they feel, are the much lower than the OEM bars?

I considered Rizomas when I put clipons on my 695.  I decided against them though because they have very little adjustability and the angle that the bars sit at is very forward, even more so than the stock bars.

I ended up getting Woodcrafts.  They're wonderful.

Suzy, did you have to use the adaptor plate as per http://www.woodcraft-cfm.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=12-16 or did they fit straight on?

The Woodcraft plate for 1100's looks a bit bulky, although you don't have the existing riser bolt holes exposed anymore. It does seems to fix the bars into one alignment with no change in angle which from your assessment seems to be the same limited adjustability issue as the Rizoma clip-ons.

Mine's a 695.  I just bolted the clipons directly to the fork legs.  The adapter plate thingy isn't really a clipon.

I dealt with the handlebar mounts by just cutting them off and filing them back.

You can see a bit more detail in this later photo:

I wish the 1100 was just as easy but there is virtually no room for bolting the clip-ons on too the forks without altering the geometry of the clamp & forks AFAIK.

I thought about putting the clip-ons under the clamp but I think it would be too low, not sure. There may not be room anyway.

Get Woodcraft 3" rise clip ons

you mount them under the triple. Ask Ungeheuer. he's done all this and is in your land down under ;)

What do peeps with clip-ons installed do with the reservoirs on the later model Monsters, the horrible white plastic "Urine Sample Collectors"?

The earlier model bikes had the black rectangular 'coffin reservoirs' (see photos below) which were reasonably indiscrete I suppose. I'm assuming I'm going to have to make room on the clip-ons for them or replace them with smaller black Rizoma reservoirs to "hide" them a bit more.

Any better ideas?

The coffins usually mean standard masters and the pee cups mean radial which are more desireable.  I'm sure a 696/796 owner would love to swap with you [evil]

but yeah i would go with the 999/diavel or rizoma cups if it bothers you
