Frankly, given their reproduction rates, and the seasonal storms of lysol and fabreze that they are exposed to, I would think that evolution would have gifted them with a pleasant lilac smell to better ensure their survival....

Either way, they die tonight...

There was a really good article maybe last year in one of the bike mags about taking care of your helmet innards. I'll try and find the mag in my stack of 300. They talked to Shoei, Arai, HJC and others about helmet care. It was a good story. The reason I wore my Arai Quantum "Twisted" helmet yesterday was because it was more pitted out than my other Arais and I figured it was due for one last sweaty ride before I disemboweled it and cleaned the innards. Guess I need to find that article. I think they all basically recommended the same thing, mild gentle hand soap wash and a thorough rinse and dry before putting the liner back in. I wish mine smelled as good as butterscotch...  :P

[drink] So, bacteria in Guinness, [drink] Guinness in Svoloch,  [drink] Svoloch in helmet, means this bacteriousus St. Paddyitis.   :o :o :o

Leprechaun manual says fill the helmet with Irish Whisky - soak overnight - drink the whisky from the helmet - & if you survive the hallucinations you will not care about the helmet aroma ever again!!  [thumbsup]

Let me know if this works - I've got some German beer thing going in my Arai !

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Cool.  I'll try out the Jameson's solution, you try out the German Beer ( May I recommend a Dunkel Weisse? )

Hah!  well, since girls don't sweat, I would propose that you are cheating.  I demand that you begin to sweat into your helmet.

Here's another thought, rather than trying to ensure that the I remember to carpet bomb them with lysol and fabreeze, I will be developing a hair gel made almost entirely of lysol and fabreze ( with the lilac smell that evolution has robbed these poor creatures of ).  That way, the minute I pull the helmet on, the lysol cocktail goes to work!!!!  Yea me!!!!

Man, put me down for some of that hair gel...er, can you make that in head lube as well--preferably matte finish.  [thumbsup]

My Dad always said my lack of hair was from putting on and taking off "those damn motorcycle helmets!" Just wore it right off. I'm sure the "helmet jam" didn't help. [puke]

...reason why I now buy helmets with removable/washable liners* exclusively!

Even my $150 HJC/Z1R helmet has one.
For Arai/Shoei/AGV, etc to not do it is just plain unacceptable! (to me)

*Plus it makes it easy to put a "Snuggle" sheet above the liner -so the wind through the vents carries little IZ_ bears to your nose.

;)

by "IZ_ bears" do you mean... ether, or...  acid?
