I thought the opposite. 

I felt it was kinda lame and really took away the tension that should be there.

3d worth it?  I haven't seen a 3d movie since I was about 6

If it was shot for 3D it could be great in 3D. The technologies are vastly improved from the days of red/green cardboard glasses. ;)

Personally, I plan on seeing it in the XD/Real 3D theater about 5 blocks from my house.

So just because its played in 3d doesn't mean it was shot in 3d, correct?

Right.  They have ways to convert a 2d film to 3d, which basically means using CGI to "lift" certain elements (usually peripheral items) to give the effect some.

A real 3d film has 2 or 3 cameras simultaneously shooting in parallax so the depth is real.
