Hellooo ladie and germs, long time, no pulling my tool. I haven't been pulling my tool (well maybe sometimes when I'm all alone), but I have been pulling my hair out having no bike. Well. I've decided to start tearing into my 1971 HONDA CB175!!! I finally bought it home from work and looking to see what I can do to this piece of motorcycling history and turn it into a F*CKING work of F*CKING ART!

It's a real horsepower machine, at least 15 REAL ponies, all pulling at the same time. And in a package that would weigh about 47 grams ringing wet. So my fat arse would really bog it down.

Here she is coming home:

I still have a Ducati sticker.  :D

Anyway, I have started to tear her down, tank, seat, wiring harness, engine, wheels and the like. This is how she was like when she got home.

And how she looks after a little tinkering:

Whoever in Japan decided it was a good idea to use philips head screws on an engine casing needs to be shot up the arse  >:(
Anyway, they will be replaced with allen head cap screws so the next unfortunate bastard doesn't need to have an impact screwdriver.

Forks, swingarm have now been removed and the forks aren't pretty, a little rust which will need a little work
.

Long story short, she will be turned into something. Clip ons, new rear sets, a new seat, removing starter motor so it will only be a kicker. Paint, blast, powder coat (not in that exact order), re-routing all the electrics, indicators, shorter cables. Not sure about exhaust yet, still thinking. And also colour, still haven't decided.

Have got and ordered gasket set, levers and 1.0 oversize rings. Will be giving her a top end rebuild, haven't pulled at the engine as yet, just the top cover and it looks pretty clean. I'm sure I have missed something, the motor will be getting a blast as well after I have rebuilt it and casings will be getting a polish as well as forks and maybe the top triple. Wheels will probably get sent away for a re-lacing and truing up. Keeping it a drum brake set up, they are more that it needs. It's 15 horsepower for f*cks sake!

How she sits now:

Wish me luck in my journey, any constructive criticism or helpful hints would be appreciated.

More updates when I can work on it, after I have finished tiling, laying floorboards or building fuc*ing retaining walls.

That's a great looking project.
I do wish you luck with it, I'm sure it will come together well. Once it gets back on the road you'll have to come out for a ride.
We'll just give you a day or two's head start.  [cheeky]

Hey Stinky ... make sure you hold onto that front number plate mount (assuming that's what it is) you'll probably need it someday.
Believe post content at your own risk.

Whoa! That was written last night after having a few.  [drink]

Betty, that was the first thing coming off, will be shortening that front guard. Front rego plates aren't back on the agenda are they?  [roll]

Just about to head back into the garage to move a few things around so I can have a bench to work on the huge motor. Going to take a grinder to the old front peg mounts, they are coming off, removing the triples for a clean up. Going to try and make my own cafe seat or maybe buy one if it all works out too hard. Need to strip, repair and paint the tank. Needs new rear shocks and headlight brackets.

Also turning my bench grinder into a polisher on one side with a wire wheel on the other.

Got a list in my head of what needs to be done, so I won't bore everyone with it. I may already have though.

Gimme some ideas on colour. Was thinking black frame, black tank with orange stripes. Still umming and ahhing. Or red/black combo, but I think that's been done too many times.

We'll see.

Thanks for all the good wishes fellas, I banned myself from this place as it was depressing me. Hope you are all well and not getting yourselves into too much trouble.  ;D

I would say one of those would make a great parts bike but mine was shittier than both of those and I only paid a hundred for mine.

This would be a great place for some inspiration, I have seen a few of their bikes around lately. There was a few of them out at the Autisum ride the other weekend.

For my money a cafe bike is not an understated affair, it is a look at me machine.

Good to know you have a bike again, looking forward to seeing its progress.

I have no idea who you are as our paths have never crossed, but with a title like that, a description to follow & a name of "Stinky Wizzleteats", I'll bet you'd be a hoot to share a meal & beer or two with!
