I've seen other racers retire and not put on the pounds like that...maybe it is all the mutton he is eating from the sheep he has pounded into submission for being disobediant on his farm....LOL

He's really not even fat.  At his age, unless you're getting paid, staying in motorcycle type fitness is a lot of work.  Those guys are lean as hell.

He doesn't have to be on a strict diet or work out every day to keep his weight down.

Yeah, he put on a buncha weight.  Immediately noticeable, and not at all surprising.  He was scary thin when he retired.   In the last few years of racing, he dropped serious weight to compete with The Ben.  If you look at him at 30, he was heavier than his late 30s.  

Listening to the commentary, he is still bitter and still Mladin.  Exactly what you'd expect.
