Hi I'm excited to be on the forum.  I have a 2011 Monster Ducati and cars are having a hard time noticing me.  I would like to change my exhaust sytem.  I want a loud, high quality but affordable system.  Can somebody give me a breakdown of their top five and why?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Not to disuade you from getting an exhaust - but don't think that it'll help either. Luder exhaust or no, they will still fail to notice you.

Now, for the affordable quality - perhaps MIVV
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

my vote goes to getting a much louder horn...like a Stebel Nautilus for the exact reasoning of what SP is going under....

Does anybody have a list of their top five brands and which would be the loudest?

Boom Tubes No Baffles!!!  :o
i think anything with a straight through muffler will be loud, going though downtown is ok, but on the freeway it gets annoying, i have the baffles in all the time now

+1.

My exhaust is not quite by any means and I'm sure that it has served as a deterrent for some but too many have failed to acknowledge my right to be on the road .
Don't argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

H Competition Rodan box is very loud and it doubles as a seat warmer for the passenger!

Learning proper lane position technique, and other defensive techniques, will help about 110% more than loud exhaust for keeping you safe. There are lots of good books, but my 2 favorites are Proficient Motorcycing and Sport Riding Techniques.

Thinking a super loud exhaust will keep you safe is stupid and naive. It won't do anything except piss people off. There are plenty of guys with a shit ton of miles whose bikes sound like sewing machines (i.e. BMWs)...they're still alive & riding because they know how to ride.

BUT, to answer your question...Boom Tubes without baffles will be the loudest. Competition Werkes without baffles will be a close second. A set of Arrows, Remus, or Termis won't be as loud, but will likely sound better though.

I'm alive because I'm running a louder system...

When some kid crossed 3 lanes in a blink of an eye and almost pinned me against a highway divider at 130kph I only had time to twist the throttle and bounce my engine off the limiter. He heard me and veered away. Yes, my horn was only a thumb width away, but the though process to hit it evaded me at the time.... not to mention my hands were cold (and arthritic) so the dexterity wasn't there...

Just a word to the wise, unless you want to be eaten alive, leave out the details of why you want something.  There are some extremely passionate riders around here.  This is the Accessories & Mods section, I would hope people actually help you find a loud exhaust to suit your needs.

Before-
I want a loud exhaust to prevent accident, please recommend.  Comments back = prepare for the apocalypse
After-
I want a loud exhaust because I like loud exhausts, please recommend.  Comments back = generally positive and helpful

In my opinion, you are going to do what you are going to do... and in that case... BOOM TUBES!  From what I gather, you can't get much louder than that when the baffles are removed.
