Low-profile tach & speedo gauges for 98' M900?

I am currently running a DP gauge cluster on my 98' M900.

The gauges are quite tall 5" approx above the tripe.  This height makes my fairing more vertical than I would like.  Would really like to be able to angle it back more & sorta follow the tank line.

I tried mounting the gauges under the triple unsuccessfully.

So I thought you guy's might have some ideas or know of a particular
Low profile gauge system that would work!!?

Thanks

if after-market then there are tons.  Trail-tech Vapor is the cheapest and many on this forum has done the install.

it can go up to the 6 bills range too I believe.

I also like this one

How difficult are these to install, also any other costs I should be aware of?

This is my current setup from DUCATI Performance....what would it'd approx value $$ be?

Here is the tutorial I have bookmarked for later when I do install.

The Mad King Pepe is very helpful, I have been sending message with questions to him to make sure before I do anything.

You can sell your dash no problem.  I think you can get $300 plus on ebay or just sell it on this forum.  I'm no expert, but that's what I think.

AFAIK no additional costs other than upgrading to LEDs and making your own dash if you go that route with the Vapor, or you can just buy the housing they have for the Vapor.  I will do this soon and post up turtorial in detail.

are you SURE those are DP gauges?  The only DP gauges I've seen have a grey face, my Road Racing one has a white face... I think if they are RR they might be worth a little more since you can't get them anymore.

COP TZR

those are probably ROAD RACING gauges sitting in a DP housing.  The ones I have are dark faced gauges and the tachometer says DUCATI PERFORMANCE sweeping beneath the numbers of the tach.

regardless, both are hard to find now in good working order.  There is one on ebay right now for $407 dollars.  I fetched mine from Germany and got a pretty sweet deal on them.  spent $225 shipped and it came with the wire harness for the tach, so it was a simple plug and play and I was after the "OEM" look.

Why are you having issues mounting it under the top triple?  I managed to do mine.  Its mounting tabs are between the bottom of the top triple and above the "U" bracket.  I opted to put it back up top because it made my fluid reservoirs and clip ons (with a rise) look too high on the bike.  Plus it now sits at a better angle for easier viewing while riding.

If I decide to sell...I will look into the paperwork (of all the mods previous owner did) and see if it states what gauges these are.

When I tried to mount the gauges under the triple, the housing of the two gauges hit the top of the headlight bucket....I stopped there.
It still appeared that I still would not have been able to get the desired laid back I want from the fairing.

Vapor is the way to go...

AFAIK...the stock gauges would not give you the disire lean of the fairing you wanted.

but I would keep those DP (or RR) gauges you have and go with the Vapor.

Yeah, the Vapor's are nice & price is great.  I do prefer the Koso GP better but they are +$100, need to make sure they are small enough to get the "LEAN" !!!
They are fairly small...5.9" wide, 3.3" tall and 2.1" deep  I will look closer this weekend [Dolph]
***time frame for a competent mechanic to install this????  Thanks, not me [bang]

I installed those and they are genuine Ducati. The speedo is the original that came with the bike. The tach & carbon mount are genuine factory upgrade & that setup is extremely rare! Not to mention very cool too.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

I have an Acewell speedo / tach combo that is similar in style to the Motogadet.

Those motogagets and acewells are sweett!!  [thumbsup]....they do clean up the cockpit well.  A little too well for my taste though.  As u can tell that i am the vapor fanboy for it relatively good price and easy installation.

I have a set of Koso- DB01R on my Monster and SV.    This model is much smaller than the model you're looking at, but regardless they are easy to install, you just have to make your own mount.

2001cromo had the set that I think you're looking at on his old track bike, a SV650.  I 'll look for a photo if he has one to help see if you have the room, but I think they're big.

edit: I found this photo, but he had them deep in his fairing, so you have to take that into account when looking at the size., but I don't think you're gonna get them to physically fit for what you're wanting to do.
