got everything wrapped up, and i spun the motor a few times to make sure the timing marks lined up and that nothing was hitting

double checked to make sure i wasnt leaking fuel out of the quick connects
started it up and it idled fine, no check engine light or anything, no weird noises, rode it down to the gas station to fill it up and surprisingly on the stock tune no less, it felt a lot smoother down low than it normally did

anyhoo, took it out on the freeway to wind it up a little, and it feels like it starts to really pull at 7500 and i think the power peaks close to 8k

if you have the means, i would HIGHLY recommend putting in 1100ds cams in the 796 motor, i need to dyno tune it and adjust the map, but it feels quicker at the high rpm range, i would really love to see what it does on the dyno

I would be reluctant to install stock cams from the big capacity lower revving motor into the smaller rev happy motors.  Just seems like a mis-match to me. 

But unlike the OP I have no first hand experience.

grind id's are O7C and V7C

but the main thing is that the cams keep the valves open longer than the stockers, which allows for more air and fuel to flow in

and i was pleasantly surprised that it ran on the stock ecu just fine, im sure its not 100% but its good enough to ride and its actually pretty zippy at higher rpm, that being said, i really do need to get some dyno time to get actual number to support this theory, but it is a lot smoother than it was before

about 200 miles now, and it feels a little quicker than it did before, the front just about power wheelies in 1st gear, i cant wait to get this thing tuned! i need a new tire first

I'm running 1100 cams ergal rollers and flywheel. thing apins like a top gettin into the powerband.  fricking love it. 

a good tune and pretty certain ill be able to power the front in stock 1st
