I just got a call this morning from an old coworker of mine, Phil. He was saying the crew from ReverCorsa ( revercorsa.com ), in Austin, TX, is coming out for GP. They're spending the week after the races riding all our wonderful roads. [moto]

When Phil came out a few years ago, I took him out for the SMR, and he's since told the rest of the crew all about our paved haven of goodness. Now they all want a taste! [laugh]

I'm thinking of taking them on some of the north bay rides, since the S.C. Mtns will probably be crawling with  [leo] looking for squids straying home from GP. I know a few of the more well known rides up north, but I'm still fumbling a few of the secret squirrel routes.

So who'd be interested in doing a few rides with a motley gang of Texas hooligans (well, actually there's only 4, but still...)?

DQ?
Desmostro?
Vinny?
MM?
TCK?
Anyone who knows the N. Bay better than me? (which is quite a few of you.)

They're a good bunch of guys, and solid riders. No worries about their skills. And if'n yer ever in the Great Republic of Texas, trust me, they'll return the favor and show you some roads that rival what we have here! [thumbsup]

TCK!

How have the police been in the North Bay? The East Bay is pretty much shut down due to police presence.

Except for Mines road which is probably the only ride I'd participate on right now.

Oh yeah at my high school if you have a group of more then 3 friends you hung out with the City Police considered you a gang and you were put into the database.

North bay hasn't been too bad. Police and traffic has been quite minimal, compared to everywhere else.

Didn't see a single badge on Sunday's ride.

Last couple N bay rides I have done were very nice and clear of tourists and  [leo].  I think going during weekdays helps!

I'd be up for a nice long N bay ride, maybe up to Skaggs?  Hell, any nbay ride is a good one.

Do they need a place to keep their bikes?  I have some space if they do

Desmostro

Put me in the data base  [cheeky]

North bay has been good for not so much [leo], but you never know. I haven't seen 'Donut' in ages come to think of it. (400lb. cop a.k.a. Donut,  that used to bust us riding - anything. Last time I got pulled over by him it was on  hywy 1 N of Tomales Bay. 30 of us on bicycles. Some crossed the yellow - he gave out 10 tickets.)

I'm still learning the roads at speed. - But I know some awesome rides.

I'm stuck at work all week and booked up that weekend too.

Northbay is usually clear, but Skaggs seems to have a bigger bullseye than usual lately.  I got the call on Sunday to let me know there were about a dozen CHPs waiting to take donations of all amounts.  If you head out there do a recon ride first.

I'm not sure how far north you guys want to go but Hwy 1 up to Leggett is awesome.  128 is a nice ride too if you need to turn inland sooner.  East of 101 there's Berryessa (watch for the popo though) North to Pope Valley then north.  175 from Lakeport to Hopland is  [thumbsup].

dan ... DO NOT TELL ANYONE ELSE from out of state (or even so cal) that we have great roads here in the bay area.  we don't want EVERYONE and his/her brother/sister moving out to the area ... this will ruin the low ratio of cool roads to bikes that we currently enjoy.  :-X

so, tell EVERYONE that the roads here are shite, there are way too many LEOs, and everything here is either on fire or falling into the ocean from the hourly earthquakes.  [evil]

I'm not much of a ride leader as I don't know the roads that well, but I"m down for a ride this weekend.  Let me know what's up.

I'll still be outta school that week definatley count me in! All the texans I've met have been super cool [cheeky]

N bay is definately less crowded it seems especially during the week and with less heat. I'll follow whatever route you guys decide [moto]

That's what I have heard, but when I was up there a month or so ago, there was noone.  Maybe 6 goldwings going the opposite direction and that was it.  I deffinetly think a recon ride is a VERY good idea considering the 30mph speed limit and one could easily do 2-3 times that limit on Skaggs.

Just lemme know. I'll try to make time!

Especially since I visit Austin 2-3 times a year  ;D

Ya but then there's the rent here. That pretty much keeps everyone away except for short vaca.

So I gave the Texans a good route up to the city from Laguna... made sure they got to sample some of Santa Cruz's finest, 9 & 35.

I'm thinking a big north bay loop... kind of a repeat of last Sunday's "Signpost Ride," but with a bit more northern roads thrown in.

Any suggestions?
