Turned over the odometer this afternoon, for the second time on the old Monster ('93 M900).
Starting the third pass; it's running strong. Next stop -- the Moon!

It's been my daily transportation for almost 19 years, so that's most of it.  I'm also up to having gone to 26 states of the lower 48 on it.

DNA is aware of the bike; they've seen it several times at various events around the country.  I know of several Ducs over 100K.  The highest I know of is Gary Eagan's ST4, that he set several endurance riding records on -- it has about 225K, and currently is in the Barber museum.  Mine is second, AFAIK, but I'm not nearly done with it yet.

The engine has required very little aside from basic maintenance.  I had the weak chrome head studs initially; most of those got replaced at around 25K, but my shop just discovered last month, while handling a base gasket leak, that there were still 3 of the original faulty studs, so they replaced those.  We put in piston rings and replaced a failed alternator bearing at 122K, a clutch basket at 140K, new (used) carburetors at 185K, just recently fixed a cylinder base gasket leak and replaced various seals and o-rings in the top end.  And that's about it.  Bottom end and transmission haven't seen the light of day since the bike was built.

There are some pics of it at the Indy MotoGP in 2010 in this thread: http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=10036.msg1048175#msg1048175

It was a "Bike of the Month" on this site back in August 2005, with the story up that point and lots o' pictures.  I don't know if those are still archived on this site or not.
