Well I drove it.  Really fun IMO and more so than the Mini.  Problem for me is that it isn't enough fun for me, guess I'm spoiled by the 5.5 Benz engine

So I have never bought a new car ever. What can you negotiate on?  I am gonna call dealer and see if I can get in the waiting list. I can see only option I would add is the leather bucket seat, the 17' rim (no idea why or what advantage it has).  Looks like it comes to 25k ouch!!

Everything.

You may not have much luck if it's an in-demand model though.

First off, there are quite a few Abarths sitting unsold in many different dealer lots all across the US.
So the very first thing you should do is decide what colors and options you want your car to have.

Once you do that, start searching the internet for the dealers that have the exact car you want in stock, unsold.
Send them an email, even if they are halfway across the country.
Ask them how much they want for their car, and what all fees they tack onto the car.

When they tell you the fees, tell them you either want them dropped, or deducted from the price of the car, if they claim they "have" to charge you for them.
You know, like the stupid undercoating, or $400 glorified wax job.

Then after that, you can aim for however much you feel comfortable paying for the car.
If you aren't happy with MSRP, offer them less.
If you have the VIN of the Abarth sitting in stock, you can probably hunt on the internet for the Chrysler/FIAT tracking tool, and be able to tell exactly how long the car has been sitting on their dealer's lot, and use that bit of info against them.

Most important, always be willing to walk away from the deal if you aren't happy.
Don't settle, either.

Good info thx.

Noticed fiat L 4 door in horizon.  Really ugly I must say.

Curious to find out what changes or updates next year Abarth will have.

Minor stuff.

Instead of Bose radio, they are using Beats Audio.

Other fluff bits like that.

Fiat is learning/has learned that Americans don't buy stick shifts if they can get an automatic

most 2012's almost all in fact that are still on the lots are 5 speeds

I got my 2012 base POP for 12,900 new,  another dealer is offering base POPs like mine for 11,900 new....I should have waited a month

great little car...I already stuck 15x7.5 rims and Dunlop Direzza ZII's on it and a Go-Pedal throttle signal booster....

looks and handles like an oversized shifter Kart with a body shell on it

I gotta upload some shots, the thing is a friggin hoot even non-turbo you can wring some life outta it above 3000 rpms

and I don't care if anyone thinks a Fiat is Gay  I ain't running for public office I am out for the fun of it
This is an insult to the Pez community

I like the Abarth, tis' a bit small, a bit expensive and a bit underpowered.  Although if Catrinel Menghia was on the accessory list it would be priceless! [thumbsup]

As someone who used to own a mini S, I'd rather have a chrysler parts dept to deal with than a BMW parts dept when the thing runs out of warranty. I don't know how long you intend to keep the car, but fixing a broken mini is $$$$ and then some. When I traded mine in (to get a Chevy Cruze Eco), I took a beating on paper. But I'm sure once they put the car on the bench, they realized I actually made out well. Just replacing the rear license plate light assembly was $125 for the parts alone. Glad to be rid of that headache.

I liked the 500 when I drove it, but was surprised that the beam between the front and back seats created a bit of a large blind spot (to fit the US required airbag). Outside of that (easy to get used to) annoyance, it was a pretty nice car.
