Hi

I live in a pretty hot place where we ride in shorts or at best jeans. I was wondering how does a passenger sit on the back of my 796 without burning the hell out of their inner legs on the pipes? Any advice would be great thanks :-)

Before the GP jump in... jeans should suffice.

It's pretty hot in AZ, and I don't think that shorts would make it any cooler on the bike.  keeping the sun off so you don't burn is nice, and since jeans are cotton they will help keep you cool by holding (a little) moisture.

Hi Dirty Duck,

Have you had a passenger just wearing jeans on the back?

Cheers

Well... I don't have 796... but with the stock exhaust on my s2r  :-[

maybe a little less than helpful if your passenger is complaining of the heat.  ;D

Carbon fiber cans do run cooler (as in to the touch almost)... (I did have set of carbon termis on a 695.)

I'll go out on a limb and say that a pair of high heel boots (with short shorts  [evil]) is the way to go!

is it stock? the stock mufflers are crazy restrictive, check out the glowing pipe on the dyno!!!!

any aftermarket carbon fiber cans and heat shields will help

i've never had a passenger on with less than jeans and motorcycle boots, which also helps shield the exhaust heat but obviously not the air temp feel.

try using specific heat undergarmets and riding gear.
it actually turns your sweat into a swamp cooler
