A funny thing happened at the dealership yesterday

I dropped my 696 off at the dealership last Thursday for its 600 mile service with 650 miles on it.  I got a call yesterday morning saying it was ready, but they needed me to bring the other key and key card as the computer wanted to the keys reset.  When I got to the dealership, the Ducati tech there got my extra key and card, and when he got done, my odometer had reset itself to 0 miles ???  The tech has never seen this before, has anyone else?  I didn't realize the countdown I was getting when I turned the key in the ignition meant that the keys needed to be reprogrammed.  So now my 696 is at 3 miles.

Now you'll need another 600 mile service....

Sorry, couldn't resist. ;D
Never heard of that, weird.

I'm not sure why, either.  I have to take it back for a reset in another 600 miles, then I have to take it in early for the 7500 mile service.  At least it's working.

never heard of that happening

Make sure you keep a record of the service that states the odometer issue. I played hell getting a car registered once after a small fire forced the replacement of the dash cluster. the Pennsylvania DMV frowned on unverifiable milage records.

I wouldn't bother taking it in early for the 7500.  As long as you put the miles on within the shelf life of the belts and do your oil changes yourself a few extra miles won't hurt.
