LIPA doesn't seem to be responding with the kind of determination you'd expect.

Just heard Bayville won't have power for a few weeks.  It's a real bad mess there.

Also heard people are in line at gas stations that aren't even open yet.

i finally spoke with my brother last night, and i am relieved.
getting gasoline for generators is a huge problem down there.
we offered to bring 20 gal. down to him, but he said not to come -
it's too ugly, and we might not make it back to CT.

people are starting to steal from one another 

i feel so bad - they had a disney vacation planned for next week,
but they don't know if they should go - and leave their things behind

i don't mean to be all doom and gloom,
but it's easy to see how things would go if it were the end of days

Just spoke to sister-in-law on L.I.  It's getting worse by the minute; police are now at all the gas stations, looting is starting to get out of hand, the national guard is coming in, people are selling $700 generators for $3000.........

But there seems to be a lot of rational people still keeping the place together. 

I pray it's over soon for them.

yes, i just read that generators are getting stolen, gas is being syphoned from peoples cars, and looting
let's just hope it gets better for everyone before it gets worse

nj is starting the odd/even rule for getting gas -
but doesn't make sense for those that are filling up gas containers, what if they don't have a car?...

been texting back and forth to my boss this morning. He's been on line for gas since 4:40.
I'm bringing down a couple gas cans of gas for him on Monday as I have to go in.
It's so wrong that my diesel car will smell like gas inside.

there is no trouble getting fuel here (go just 30 miles away and the story changes)
also, my fuel range is 600-700 miles

same here... we can get gas, but along the coast it's another story
