the wife likes the CC but it's just a spruced up jetta imo.

FYI....the CC is a variant of the Passat chassis...

Jetta 2 bodies capacity in the trunk and maybe a couple loose body parts..

Passat 3 bodies in the trunk and a few body parts...

CC...almost 3 bodies in the trunk unless you get some creative folding going on due to the slightly different body lines for elegance...

also...the Passat/CC IMHO is a more stable chassis in the curves and more comfortable overall in general.

Every time I see a CC, I do a double take. Nice design.

The Passat, not as much. Too generic in comparison.

we have 1 customer here at work...when he brings his CC in for service...his wife picks him up and drops him off later in her Benz CLS....it is funny to see them side by side....

that's your choice and there is nothing wrong with that....me, I work at a VW dealership and while I know the product line isn't perfect...it pays my bills and I freely acknowledge there is no perfect brand....they all have some inherent issues somewhere...just a matter of figuing out if it is something you can cope with or not when you spend your money.

actually, i just realize i came across bashing the brand.

it is what it is, a good low cost for the most part, quality car.
just I don't see it as 'man' cave compatible. maybe 'metrosexual' cave. or 'beatnik peacefreak' cave. but not 'man' cave  ;D

well...while overall I agree with you...there have been a few exceptions...1 of which was a one off, but still droolworthy...the W12 AWD GTi that VW built for showing off...

as a gearhead, when you strip things down to bare essentual mechanical stuff, a motor is impressive if engineered and executed well and that is somethat VWAG has been very good at if you really think about it...

I was looking at the exposed engine on an old bug last week. It is a very simple design and looks easy to work on. Never the less I don't like those things. I think the Westfallia probably has the same engine, which partially explains why they are always at the head of a long line of cars.

I also never liked the interior on the old VW's or the smell of cheap vinyl that exuded from those old cars.

But the new cars....
Whole different car, from a whole different company.

Who specifically? Me? You want me to tell you that?
OK the heating system does not run through the exhaust. How's that?
