What I gathered from him after he brought it to the shop is that the alternator didn't appear to be hooked up to anything. I'm thinking it was a one wire (I hate those) that vibrated loose.

He made it pretty far on just the battery!

just got a decent internet connection again. I'm in Phoenix tonight and everythng has gone pretty well with the truck. Only 1 door fell off! 

i'm trying to upload some more pics to photobucket now and will put up a link to the album later.

i had a guy in a wrx sti pull up next to me drooling over the truck and then floor it to share exhaust notes. it was humorous.

also, i have worn pants every time i drove the truck. though it has warmed up now and i can get awya without wearing them.

a word on the alternator. it was hooked up correctly, it just doens't have much to power so they kept it simple with the 1 wire system.
