This is my first motorcycle and I LOVE IT!

New to the forum, new to motorcycling. Bought my Monster from a friend who got it new, used it for 400km and decided motorcycling was not for him. In the 10 months as a Ducatista I have used my bike EVERYDAY, wether for commuting or riding with the local Desmo Owners Club, but EVERY SINGLE DAY.

I had never ridden a bike before, so I appreciate all the tips you post in the fórum.

Cheers!

Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

Hi you asked for info about the UK in another thread. I am from surrey, mostly do fun runs around box hill and the country side behind it down to the coast, in UK your only about 50-60 miles from the coast from just about anywhere. Box hill is near Dorking, in the 2012 Olympics it was where all the push bike racing took place out in the country sections, they made them circuit the hill several times was a lot of TV coverage. There are no boarder controls in UK, but if you do Ireland do the south, north is very nice but riding a UK plate bike might not be the best thing just at the moment as there's been a little trouble lately.

A few recommendations, in case you haven't heard of them:

Two books on riding technique:

-Total Control by Lee Parks
-Twist of the Wrist I/II by Keith Code

Movies (obviously, these may not be available outside US):

-Fastest (on Netflix streaming, in the US at least)
-Faster (available on iTunes for like $5)
-Closer to the Edge (available online via this link.  Don't try to understand what Guy Martin is saying)
-Long Way Round (available on Hulu streaming)
-On Any Sunday (available on Netflix streaming)
"I doubt I'm her type---I'm sure she's used to the finer things.  I'm usually broke. I'm kinda sloppy…"

Great advice about Ireland, thanks a lot!

I already started Reading Total Control, will look for the other book and movies.
