Might be a derby but his Monster cafe is new to me. So glad to see a builder make a Monster cafe that actually looked like a cafe racer, instead of attempting to do it within the confines of the 'W' shaped stock frame.
If I get this job I'm vying for I am so making my monster with a flat top frame.

Question is: what the heck is going on with the left side of the motor?

I'm calling a "Pedro" on this one.

Calling Pedro is equivalent to what a "Derby" would be sans proof.

What do you mean by "going on" with the left side of the motor?

it's not a monster frame.  he builds his own frames.

lh side of the motor is std 90 - 97 900, but is polished.

page 171 or so of the italian bike thread (?) has a photo of the fame.

johann at moto motivo has built a few monster frame based cafes.  http://www.motomotivo.com/

on a side note: anyone think a ducati motor would fit in a gsxr j - l model frame?

Yes I like what Johann is doing. His work gives the impression of flat lines while maintaining most of the stock frame. I just emailed him asking if he sells those subframe sections.
But Walt I feel achieved that classic look with a Duc which I have never seen until now.

Never knew/noticed that about the early 900 motors. Super sexy. Wish my 750 looked like that, but then again, I wish many things for my old 750. But "if wishes were fishes we'd all cast nets".
(Guess correctly what that quote is from and you get a prize)

It's a great looking bike but it just looks like a Sport 1000 to me. [shrug]

A black rubber cap on the end of the stock speedo-drive?

Why not just break off the most-likely-already cracked housing and just use the spacer that's already in there?

Meh.  Don't mind me.  I'm just cranky.  I'm sure it's a nice bike in person.
