Not having a job is not always a bad thing.  I retired from my career at the end of December.  I find that I now don't have time to waste sitting in front of my computer contributing to forums.  I can't even keep up with my favorite threads.  I've got bikes to work on, metal to burn, and data to crunch.  I've never been so busy.  Since retiring I've put in one day of riding and one day of fishing.  This is not what I expected, but beats the hell out of working.  Ya'all have fun [thumbsup] [thumbsup]

We don't roll that way here.

You don't know the guy...and even if you did what's to stop the next guy from throwing out insults?

Congrats to you!

I work with a bunch of retirees that are there for the benefits. They all love grabbing their lunchboxes and coming to work for some reason. Explain they may, I still don't get it

I was ready for retirement 26 years ago

age 35 seemed to be old enough to be considered a reasonable contribution to industry

I "retired" in my twenties, right after grad school.  Lasted about 7 years as a dirt bag - had some great adventures.  Then resumed career, family, mortgage in my thirties when I knew I was where I wanted to settle in. Figured it be would best to enjoy life when I was young, albeit poor, and then transmogrify into a responsible old fart.

I'll probably work til I die.  Talking to some retirees I know, they say the hardest thing is waking up with no reason to get out of bed and realizing that it doesn't matter to anyone if you don't.  If you can avoid that feeling, you're golden.  Enjoy.

I've met some folks that just can't adjust to retirement.  And that is the most depressing view of retirement that I've heard.  Very sad.
