Wrestling will have to compete with wakeboarding to maybe get reinstated in 2020.

Yeah I saw that, knocks out a lot of countries that otherwise wouldn't have a competitive athlete to send. I guess they kept that ridiculous beach volleyball in.

Having been a wrestler in my school days I have to say this really sucks.  Wrestling is often stated to be the worlds oldest sport.  Think about, we probably wrestled when we were Homo erectus.  This makes no sense.  If I were still young and still wrestling this would be a dream killer.

Seriously... who thinks this is a GOOD idea?  It's the OLYMPICS and wrestling is one of the ORIGINAL competitions along with running, boxing, and beer-drinking!

I lost the link i read this from, but it said they dropped wrestling becasue wrestling is already extremely popular and if the Olympics droped it, the sport would still thrive and live on.

If curling was stopped...well no one would really give that much of a hoot and the "sport" ight be lost altogether.

That is just silly.  It was dropped because the IOC wants to make money.

Most folks in this Country don't watch wrestling, never have and never will. It's the most pure form of sport period. Hopefully they'll see the light.
