Has anyone here tried propersuit.com for a MTM suit? I'm starting a new job next month and my standard uniform of hoodie, shorts and flip-flops isn't going to cut it.

No experience with them yet but I've been thinking of buying from them for a few months now.  I haven't read anything bad about them yet, unlike another online MTM suit company.  You might be cutting it really close as far as time goes.  It takes about a month to get your suit.

Why order one on-line? Seems you could just walk into you local Nordstroms or something, pick out whatever you want, and have them alter it to fit, for about the same price and faster.  ???

Am I missing something?

What size are ya? I could use a new suit.

I have nice selection ranging from 38 to 44 long and waists from about the same

I have impeccable business-conservative taste, pants are cuffed to hang properly and cut to break on the laces

some pleated most not, pinstripes and glen plaids

a few customs and the rest are 346 Madison's

Single breasted some 2 and some 3 button jackets all single vent in the back

I have to wear suits every day... :'( ..so here goes my $0.02..

If you buy on-line or at the store, the best investment you can do is to have the suit tailor fit. Sleeves of the jacket not passing you wrist bone, fit of the jacket test by making a fist on your chest.. more than that and it’s too lose.  And the length of your pants should reach the middle of your shoe laces.

My personal preference for suits:  pants with flat front and for  2 bottoms jackets.

Proper Suit works a little differently than other providers like Indochino or Dragon Inside. With Proper Suit, you schedule an hour-long session with a tailor where you're measured, select your options and you're off. Other providers basically leave you to your own devices for measurements.

I have difficulty going off the rack with a 14" drop. Even with tailoring, OTR suits kinda fit me like a sack.

Luckily I have a couple suits I can use for my first trip, and I don't have to wear them daily.

If I had to wear a suit to work I'd slit my throat.

Thank you for your comment. It was very helpful. I thought I'd just landed my dream job after a prolonged period of underemployment. However, your insight made me question the role. After all, if random Internet guy would rather die - literally die - than wear a suit to work, I must be crazy to be excited about this job. What was I thinking?

I guess you took me a bit too literally. Why so sensitive?

Here's my suit...

I accessorize with a respirator and spray gun.

Will that work for you?
