I have to hurry. There are a few more things that I want to do to the bike before the trip.

Can't forget the extended swing arm. I was thinking that I would put a 330 rear tire on as well. The NOS is a good idea, but I read somewhere that a guy is building turbo kits for the 1098. That is the route I am leaning towards. A NOS bottle is just too finite.

Actually, I just want a new windscreen and a new exhaust. And I am also putting on new bar ends. Never listen to anyone when they recommend a throttle meister for a 1098. It sounded like a great idea for long interstate miles, but is a very dangerous device. I kept accidentally activating it yesterday. Was not good.

I have 4 rooms reserved at the Holiday Inn in Russellville.  If we need to add more rooms I can.

I have some good news and some bad news....Good news is that I got a promotion at work which is nice after a tough year of learning the new job I got this year....Bad news is that it might keep me from making the trip.  I have a lot more meetings and projects now so depending on how the projects are going I might or might not be able to go.

Let's try to get a lunch going one day in the next week or two and I will print off maps and bring them incase I cannot go.

Yep, I believe Rich would know all about that. Unfortunately. I may be iffy on this now also. Would still like to go so don't scratch me off yet. Major bummer if Swanny doesn't go. That could have an effect on my decision.

Got the new rear tire put on last night so the bike is now trip worthy.   Now I just have to bust out a ton of work so I can hopefully go.

I have run into a road block. Catie's grandfather is doing poorly, and I might need to be close by for the next few weeks. I will know for sure by Friday whether I am in or not. Sorry for the last minute possible bail out.

Fastwin, I am still planning on going but I won't know for sure until the week before.  I hope you still plan on going.

If I do make it I demand no wrecks this time.  I want to do the whole 2nd day with no issues.

Everyone that is planning on going have damn near new tires?  Seems that we have the occasional tire issues on these trips as well (DLS )

Could you please do an update on the plan as it stands today.  The thread is rather long and I am not sure when we leave, where we meet up and at what time and how many days we will be gone.

I am guessing we leave Sept 20 a Saturday?  and come back Monday the 22nd? 

JUst in case you can't make it, will someone else take over as lead?  This would be my first trip to Arkansas so I would be clueless.  Then again that seems to be most of the time anyway.

Leave Sept. 20th around 7 am or 8 am from Allen Outlet Mall and return mid afternoon on Monday the 22nd....the exact time is determined by how many flats or worn out tires Duc L' Smart encounters on Monday.

Hmmm bike hit 4k after the ride on Sunday not sure if Ill be able to make this one or not. Between this trip and HC that would be alot more miles in a short period of time. Then again, maybe Ill have a monster that I can take to HC  . I know 4k isnt alot but I like the idea of keeping the mileage low... you know for trade in purposes in '09
