It is, it boots but there is some sort of hardware issue that causes a lockup. Ill try another version tomorrow.

Since on the subject.. 

I have a cust built PC I acquired as a tip from a customer..  had it sitting for about a year now.  Got a terabyte hd for it.  Its has all new stuff including quad core processor..  I can't get the damn thing to show up on a screen.  No bios shows, nothing..  no matter if using HDMI or a PCi cord...

does it 'POST' or beep when you turn it on?

No post means it cant even get to the Bios which means its not getting past square one.
Something on the main board.

It's been my experience that bad subcomponents attached to the motherboard can also cause this issue.  Try pulling everything out and putting it back in one piece at a time and see if a specific piece of hardware (such as a stick of RAM) causes the motherboard to stop POSTing.
